Raoul Owens is a British racing driver with both single-seater and GT experience in prestigious series across Europe and North America.
Having raced in single-seaters for five years between 2011 and 2015, Raoul's career moved over to GT racing in 2016 after competing in the Renault Sport Trophy which used the radical Renault RS01 car. He picked up one win in that season by beating current Williams Formula 1 driver, Robert Kubica. He displayed great pace throughout the season and showed great maturity as well which was praised by his team.
In 2017, Raoul faced one of his biggest career challenges to date, as he transitioned over to race at the legendary Nürburgring Nordschliefe in the VLN Series, driving the BMW 235iR Cup car. He displayed great focus, ambition and team spirit throughout the season. This was showed by strong results, good lap times and great credit from his team, Team Walkenhorst BMW.
He continued these great performances throughout 2018, which included taking pole position at the 24 Hours Nürburgring and winning the ADAC TOTAL 24h-Rennen Nürburgring in the GT4 class. In addition to this, he also collected some podium finishes as well in 2018.
Beyond his talents as a professional racing driver, Raoul is an avid video gamer and is one of his many passions outside of the race track. His other interests include fitness, football and the world of business. In Raoul's own words: "If I wasn’t a racing driver, I would definitely be involved in the gaming industry".
